Ebony Nicole Smith is the writing coach, publisher engineer, transformational speaker, and workshop facilitator for women entrepreneurs and clergy who desire to create books that can become an additional income stream. She is the founder and CEO of Ebony Nicole Smith Consulting, LLC, a boutique writing and publishing company based in Rochester, New York. Ebony Nicole is a 2015 ROC Awards nominee for Author of the Year and Mayoral Recognition for Small MWBE (Minority Women-owned Business Enterprise) 2020. She is a recipient of the 2023 Black Men Achieve President’s Award and the 2024 RnB Wednesday’s Unsung Heroes Award. She has written and published over ten books and forty clients.

An author by passion, transformational speaker by experience, and a woman of God by calling, Ebony Nicole wears many hats. In addition to running her business, she is the co founder of and the chairwoman for the Rochester Black Authors Association, vice president of the Rochester Black Authors Association, and the Guest Services Director of the Rochester Black Men Achieve Awards and the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator for BMA Youth Mentorship Program. She mentors aspiring authors and publishers, and her service on various community boards reflects her passion and personal mission in life. She lives with her family in Rochester, NY, and travels the world with her heart.

Workshops

The Collective Journey
This is an interactive storytelling workshop designed to ignite creativity, foster collaboration, and enhance imaginative thinking. Participants will embark on a shared adventure, exploring new realms together. At a key moment in the journey, they will describe their sensory experiences in detail, sharing what they "see" and feel. This workshop encourages public speaking, imaginative play & creative thinking.

(Grades 1-12, Adults, Seniors) 90 minutes

 

One Day When I Wake Up
In this workshop, attendees will have 30 minutes to envision and write about what a typical day in their lives might look like twenty years from now. Afterward, participants will share their narratives aloud. This workshop encourages public speaking & creative writing.

(Grades 1-12) 45 minutes - 2 hours

 

The Gossip Train
This workshop aims to tackle the issue of gossip and its consequences through the classic game known as "Telephone." This workshop encourages active listening and friendship/relationship skills.

The Sounds of Words
During this interactive experience creative writing merges with storytelling to enhance public speaking skills. Participants have 30 minutes to create a story based on a theme featuring a keyword. As the story is read aloud, the audience claps twice each time the keyword is mentioned. If time allows, participants can also draw a picture to accompany their story. This workshop encourages public speaking, creative writing and active listening skills.
