Eva is a fight choreographer, personal trainer and owner of Roc Fitness and Sword Fighting in Rochester, NY. She has over 10 years of training experience in stage combat. Students of all ages in area theatre groups, parks, after-school programs and schools have learned the art of stage combat from her. Certifications as Intermediate Combatant in Single Sword, Unarmed, Martial Arts, Quarterstaff, Smallsword, Long Sword, Rapier and Dagger were received from Fight Directors Canada. Eva holds a degree in Theater and Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management with minors in English and Business from SUNY Plattsburgh and is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Eta Sigma Delta, Alpha Psi Omega, and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. She is also the Founder of Guilderland Summer Shakespeare Society, a theatrical company she created upon graduating high school. Combining her knowledge as a personal trainer with her stage combat experience ensures that safety is always at the forefront of what Eva does.

Classes/Workshops

Little Adventurers:
This class will dive into children’s imaginations! Students will get to play with foam swords*, learn very basic sword techniques while focusing on safety, self-management, responsible decision making and relationship skills. All this while pretending they are pirates, superheroes and knights!
*Foam swords are available for students to take away for additional charge & must be requested prior to the workshop.
(Grades K-5) 45 minutes

Wee Musketeers
This child focused workout combines sword technique with exercise using styrofoam swords*. Students will learn real grade/age appropriate sword techniques along with cardio basics such as running in place, doing jumping jacks and skipping to truly tire them out!
*Foam swords are available for students to take away for additional charge & must be requested prior to the workshop.
(Grades K-5) 45 minutes

Sword Fighting 101
Learn how to wield a sword. This class covers steps from attacking and defending, to footwork and stance work. Unleash your inner warrior. Different types of swords available on request (including styrofoam safety swords for younger ages). A variety of focus topics are available to customize this program.

(All ages) 45 - 60 minutes

Stretch It Out
During class students will go through a full body stretch. While in the process of doing this, they learn how to treat their body with kindness through mindful stretching, be more aware of what their bodies are telling them and gain skills in healthy stress reduction. Yoga mats are recommended.

(Grades 8 & Up, Adults) 45 - 60 minutes

Fight That Dragon!!
A child friendly workout that will get them moving around while pretending to fight an imaginary dragon*! Transform your classroom into a legendary battleground as students pretend they are walking into a battle against a friendly dragon. They will learn real historical sword techniques including footwork, attacking and defending.
*Foam swords are available for students to take away for additional charge & must be requested prior to the workshop.

(Grades K - 5) 45 Minutes


Warrior Workouts
Learn sword techniques while keeping your body moving during this workout class. This session combines cardio and strength training to truly tire students out. During the workout they’ll learn real historical sword techniques including footwork, attacking and defending. These sword techniques will be combined with basic cardio such as running in place or high knees and strength training basics such as squats and lunges to get a fun full-bodied workout.
(Grades 6 & Up, Adults*) 45 - 60 minutes

*Maximum/minimum of adults depending on size of workshop area.
