Womba means “Welcome, We Are Coming” in the Ga language. This is a cultural drum and dance group formed in their hometown of Nungua, Ghana, Africa. The members are part of the Ga Adangbe People in greater Accra, Ghana. Their tribe has a very rich history and culture quite distinct from other major ethnic groups.

Workshops

The Collective Journey
This is an interactive storytelling workshop designed to ignite creativity, foster collaboration, and enhance imaginative thinking. Participants will embark on a shared adventure, exploring new realms together. At a key moment in the journey, they will describe their sensory experiences in detail, sharing what they "see" and feel. This workshop encourages public speaking, imaginative play & creative thinking.

(Grades 1-12, Adults, Seniors) 90 minutes

 

One Day When I Wake Up
In this workshop, attendees will have 30 minutes to envision and write about what a typical day in their lives might look like twenty years from now. Afterward, participants will share their narratives aloud. This workshop encourages public speaking & creative writing.

(Grades 1-12) 45 minutes - 2 hours

 

The Gossip Train
This workshop aims to tackle the issue of gossip and its consequences through the classic game known as "Telephone." This workshop encourages active listening and friendship/relationship skills.

The Sounds of Words
During this interactive experience creative writing merges with storytelling to enhance public speaking skills. Participants have 30 minutes to create a story based on a theme featuring a keyword. As the story is read aloud, the audience claps twice each time the keyword is mentioned. If time allows, participants can also draw a picture to accompany their story. This workshop encourages public speaking, creative writing and active listening skills.
